Wide Open Field Set to Contest 41st Freihofer’s Run for Women On Saturday, June 1 In Albany, N.Y. Jenn Rhines, Melody Fairchild Set to Tussle for Masters (Over 40) Field ALBANY, NY (May 22, 2019) — Choosing a winner at this year’s Freihofer’s Run for Women 5K is going to be a challenging assignment. Freihofer’s® Run For Women To Award $10,000 To Girls Inc. And Caring Together, Inc.

Donations Will Come from 2019 Participant Registration Fees  ALBANY, N.Y. (May 14, 2019) — Two local charities with women-focused missions will receive checks totaling $10,000 from the 41st annual Freihofer’s Run for Women event registration fees. Girls Inc. of the Great Capital Region aims to inspire all girls to be strong, smart and bold. The organization, which has offices in Albany and Schenectady, serves more than 1,000 girls annually through its award-winning, research-based programs, which are offered through after-school programs, school vacation week programs, Summer Fun Camps, Eureka!, and other outreach programs. “Girls have the right to accept and appreciate their bodies and are entitled to thrive in communities that invest in their total physical, mental, and emotional wellness. Freihofer’s Run for Women Announces Ambassador Program

12 Women Chosen to Represent Race at Community Events, Regional runs, and on Social Media ALBANY, N.Y. (March 27, 2019) — Officials at the Freihofer’s® Run for Women today announced the launch of the event’s Ambassador Program, an initiative designed to encourage more women to get involved in one of the nation’s most prestigious all-women’s road races. “As we head to the 41st Freihofer's Run for Women, thousands of women have experienced the empowerment, joy, sisterhood and fun of the Freihofer’s Run for Women,” said FRW Co-Director Kristen Hislop. “But we know we can touch more lives, so we decided to introduce the Freihofer's Run for Women Ambassador Team.” The application process began in March and an outstanding group of women applied. A committee then reviewed the applications and whittled the field to 12 women who have not only made the event a part of their lives, but also have a strong social media presence and can inspire others to take part. 10-Week Training Challenge to Shape Up for Race Day Begins 3/19 at Sites in Albany, Saratoga, Schenectady and Greene Counties ALBANY, N.Y. (February 18, 2019) — Online registration for the 41st Freihofer’s® Run for Women (Saturday, June 1 at 9 a.m.), the Capital Region’s premier all-women’s 5K road race, is now open at freihofersrun.com. All registrants will receive a high-performance women’s commemorative t-shirt. Other perks include: a box of delicious Freihofer’s® chocolate chip cookies; a fresh loaf of Freihofer’s® bread; chip timing; live results; printable finisher certificates; free massages; chiropractic adjustments and discounted running gear at the event’s Health & Fitness Expo; live music both around the course and post event; post-race refreshments courtesy of Price Chopper Supermarkets; and, races for the kids throughout the morning.
