How to Register Your Non-Profit Agency

If you represent a non-profit agency and would like to participate this year, please register online or print and submit the registration form. We will review your information and inform you as to your status.

Online Donations Option: For accepted organizations, we offer you the option to accept donations online through the Freihofer's Run for Women Web site. This option is available to organizations that already have an online giving account set up (via PayPal or similar type of service). If you would like us to create a link to your online giving page, you must register online for your organization to participate in the Freihofer’s Community Walk. Not sure if you’re already signed up to accept donations on our web site? Check here.

This application for participation will be reviewed and, if approved, your organization's information will be posted in the list of participating non-profit organizations and, if requested, your donation account information will be posted on the Online Donations Portal page. Please be aware that both postings may not happen at the same time.

Check In

All walkers must check in at the Community Walk registration area inside the South Concourse south of the bus turn-around of the Empire State Plaza in downtown Albany. Check-in begins at 9:30 a.m. on walk day.

Walkers who have pre-registered and collected donations for a Non Profit Group must check-in with that group's coordinator. Walkers who are not pre-registered but have raised donations may register the day of the walk with the non-profit organization of their choice.

Fitness walkers are required to check-in at the Walk Administration table.

Non-profit Donation Collection

Walkers are encouraged to walk for one of the registered non-profit organizations. Walkers may print out a sponsor sheet from this web site but should contact their chosen non-profit organization for additional sponsor information. All donations collected should be payable directly to the Non-Profit Organization. The Freihofer's Community Walk has raised more than $1 million for non-profit organizations since its inception in 1989. We appreciate your support in this effort.

Answers on Who Can Participate in the Community Walk

We've received a number of questions regarding just who is allowed to participate in the Community Walk.

The answer is: anyone and everyone can participate! While the Freihofer's Run for Women 5k is a women-only event, the Community Walk (and most other events over the weekend) are open to men, women and children. We encourage as many people as possible to sign up for the Community Walk. We also encourage participants to select one of our many participating charities to support.

5 Reasons to Participate in the Community Walk.

1. There is no cost to participate.
2. Very easy to get involved. Non-profits just need to register online or submit the Non-Profit Agency Registration Documents (PDF)
3. Food, entertainment, shirts, etc provided
4. We also have customized marketing materials available
5. Coordinate a team and raise money. 100% of what you raise goes to charity you select. Great way to raise awareness too. So if you are staff, a board member, a committee member, or a volunteer, please share this information with the non-profit.
